Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

The data controller is BIRO AUTOMATION S.R.L., based in Bucharest, Romania. For any question about your data, you can reach us at contact@biroautomation.ro or +40 722 766 180.

2. What data we collect

• Contact form: name, email address, company (optional), the description of your process, and the language you were browsing in.
• Direct contact: the data you send us yourself when you write by email, call us, or message us on WhatsApp.
• Visit statistics: aggregated data collected through Vercel Web Analytics (pages visited, country, device type, browser, referring site). This service does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.
• Language preference: saved only on your device, in a cookie and in your browser's local storage, so the site opens in the language you chose.

3. Why we use it and on what legal basis

• To reply to your request and prepare an offer — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• To deliver the services agreed in a contract, if you become a client (art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• To keep accounting and tax records, if you become a client — a legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
• To understand how the site is used and keep it secure — our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal data. We only share it with providers that help us run the site and communicate with you, and only to the extent needed:

• Web3Forms — processes contact form submissions and delivers them to us by email.
• Vercel — hosts the website and provides the visit statistics.
• Our email provider — stores the messages we exchange with you.
• Public authorities, only when the law requires it.

5. Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Some of these providers may process data outside the EEA, including in the United States. In that case, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

6. How long we keep it

• Requests that do not become a project: up to 2 years from our last exchange.
• Client data: for the duration of the contract, then for the period required by Romanian tax and accounting law.
• Language preference: up to 1 year, or until you clear it from your browser.

7. Cookies

The site uses a single cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers the language you chose (EN or RO) for up to 1 year. It is strictly necessary for this function, so it does not require consent. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. External links

The WhatsApp and LinkedIn buttons take you to services run by other companies. When you use them, their own privacy policies apply.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@biroautomation.ro. We will reply within one month.

You also have the right to file a complaint with the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP), www.dataprotection.ro.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted access to accounts, and reputable providers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last update at the top.
